Closeup shows
detail of the rocks
and heavy relief of
the trees. The
water was
airbrushed.

On site, this 4" thick 4'x6'
carving in heavy relief
depicts an island on
Flathead Lake in
Northwest Montana.
Mountings are two steel
flanges slid from the top of
the posts midway down.

Interesting in that everything
that is black is steel with the
exception of the lettering.
This is a combination of
carved Precision Board and
plasma cut steel images. It's
double sided and 6" thick.
Overall size is 7'x5'. Final
overcoat is Pelucid.

An unusual piece in that it is all
carved from one piece of Precision
Board. The flowers in the center
were left as a 1.25" thick relief.
The flat background behind the
flowers was carved to inlet the
metal frame. Once in place, a
sheet of non-glare acrylic was slid
down from the top and left the
illusion of a framed piece of
artwork hung in the middle.

The background texture was
achieved by six hours of
solid chiseling. An airbrush
was used for the blues
behind the basket, as with
the flowers.

This is a double sided 8'x16'
carving, 8" thick. It resides at
the entrance to Glacier
National Park in Montana.
Interesting how folks like to
see artwork of trees,
mountains and lakes right in
the middle of trees,
mountains & lakes.
